Mrs. O’Meara’s 7th grade Makerspace class has been taking a delicious journey around the world—through food! Over the past few weeks, students explored the cuisine of Poland, learning about traditional dishes and putting their culinary skills to the test.
Their hard work paid off with an impressive meal featuring pork cutlets, Silesian potato dumplings, brown gravy, and mizeria, a refreshing Polish cucumber salad. To top it off, they made a modified version of andrut, a classic wafer-style cake. The result? A feast that had students raving. One enthusiastic review summed it up perfectly: “This is fire!”
Some students even took home recipes, eager to recreate the flavors of Poland in their own kitchens. With such an amazing experience behind them, we can’t wait to see what country’s cuisine the Makerspace class explores next!

Our 10th-grade students engaged in a fun and interactive activity with the seniors at the meal site—playing "Two Truths and a Lie." This classic icebreaker game encourages storytelling, critical thinking, and connection as students and seniors take turns sharing three statements about themselves—two that are true and one that is a lie. The goal is for the group to guess which statement is the lie, sparking conversation, laughter, and a chance to learn more about one another.

The kinder crew has been very busy learning and playing in 2025! Here’s a sneak peek at our learning and fun.
