In January, students in Mrs. Wolfe’s Creative Writing class took their learning beyond the classroom walls with a special field trip to Barks & Rec in Queensbury.
During their visit, students met eight incredible dogs currently available for adoption. After spending time getting to know each pup’s unique personality, the students returned to school and put their writing skills to work — crafting persuasive essays from the dogs’ perspectives! Each bio was written with heart, humor, and hope, all with one goal in mind: helping these deserving dogs find their furever homes.
We are so proud of our students for combining creativity with compassion. Their work showcases not only strong persuasive writing skills, but also empathy and community engagement.
If you are considering adding a four-legged friend to your family, we encourage you to take a few moments to read the students’ bios and share them on your own social media feeds. Let’s work together to help these fine pups find loving homes!
For more information about any of the dogs, please contact Barks & Rec directly:

Together, we can make a difference — one story and one adoption at a time. 🐾
