❤ National Endangered Species Day is celebrated annually on the third Friday in May. This year's 3rd graders have been busy researching endangered animal species and advocating for their protection. They have been busy writing letters and collecting donations and will be presenting their research in a few week. Today they took a break from their research and participated in the Endangered Species Chalk Art Event by drawing the animals they have been studying on the school walkway. Stop by and take a look.

7th grade students are working on creating a probability carnival. They must create a carnival game, calculate the chance of winning (theoretical probability) and compare it to the probability of how many people actually won(experimental probability). Stay tuned to see our completed games!

Before the start of 4th quarter there was a request by some of the staff to build a picnic table that can be used on the crow hill side of the school. Students in Mr. Dora's Maker Space have answered the call and are working on building one! Mr. Rathbun has generously donated his time with this project! With his help we are learning about tools, templates, measuring, cutting, characteristics of wood, cross-lap joints, and much more. Check back to see the final product.

Congratulations to the 2023 Indian Lake Central School Salutatorian Julia Schempp will be attending Skidmore College. Julia continually sets an example for the other students in our school. Julia represents a strong leader by embracing her personal integrity in choosing to follow her own path regardless of what other students her age might be doing. In making these choices she has evolved into a person who truly leads through example. Her peers respect her quiet determination and independence. Julia embodies the positive qualities desirable in a student, community member and citizen but she also has an unassuming and self-assured air about her that combines with her leadership skills.

Congratulations to the 2023 Indian Lake Central School Valedictorian Anna Strader will be attending Smith College in North Hampton. Anna is extremely hard working. She is very bright and takes her academics seriously. She can be counted on for handing in quality work that is neat and on time. Anna is organized, methodical and has excellent time management skills. She is passionate about all that she does. She will never settle; she strives for excellence in all that she does-whether in the classroom or on the ball field. She is a well-rounded and an all around good kid. She works well under pressure and can rise to any challenge put before her. Anna is destined to do amazing things in life no matter what she puts her mind to.
