Orange Athletics Update:
Congratulations to the ILCS CLay Target Team on a great competition at
the annual Foothills Challenge Trap Tournament held at Hudson Falls Fish
and Game Club this past Sunday. There were over 250 competitors
including the number 1 athlete in the state.
Despite very challenging windy conditions and a competitive field of
athletes our team turned in an outstanding performance. For the second
year in a row we took High Overall Athlete with Tyler Mack winning a
gold medal on a perfect 25 and a 23 for a 48 total. Austin Bruso crushed
it with another 25 and 22 for a 47 total , second highest score in the
tournament, for a gold medal for varsity boys. There were only 3 25s
logged in the tournament and we had 2 of them. Hayley Cummins had an
outstanding 2 round 39 to claim 3rd place bronze medal for varsity
female. The balance of the team carried us through with a 215 point
total. That included Owen Bruso, Abbie Hall, Logan Howe, Brendan Husson,
Riley Liddle, and Michael Lamphear, who qualified as varsity in his
rookie year and scored a terrific 40 making him 3rd on our team.
Although our team placed 4th we were only 5 targets (out of 250) short
of 1st place - 215 to 220. We missed 2nd place by 2 (215 to 217) and 3rd
place by ONE target! An incredible accomplishment on a very difficult
windy day. The event director, George Gedney said it was the most
competitive tournament in the history of The Challenge, to which we rose!
Next Saturday, June 10th, we're taking this hot streak to Cicero NY
where we will compete in the New York State High School Clay Target
League state championships. It will be an exciting day at Bridgeport
Rod & Gun with 1300 competitors from across the state. Wish us luck!!!
Break 'em all!

The students had a blast, and lots of students and staff members were seen leaving the carnival with smiles & prizes.

Orange Athletics Update: Trapshooting :
We placed second to Whitehall - 36 points out of 1500 pts in our conference. Bugs and wind 🙁. But a great performance none the less! Tyler placed 2nd behind Whitehall #1 by .4 of a point - that's about 5 targets over the 5 week season. Austin was 3rd by .8 points. Abbie was 1st place conference female and Logan was 2nd. These should all be medal awards.
Abbie and Logan both placed top 25 Female and Tyler placed 89 top 100 - out of over 2500 athletes state wide.

ILCS students enjoyed a fantastic trip to Montreal with their Distance Learning classmates from Cobleskill-Richmond! Thanks for an amazing experience Madame Hinckley!
