The fourth grade has been learning about the Haudenosaunee. The Haudenosaunee are thankful every day. 4th Graders have made their own personal wampum belts that portray symbols of things for which they are grateful. They've also made Haudenosaunee instruments.

Quiz Bowl Team Update:
The Quiz Bowl team lost to Granville in a well played match. The best part of the evening was a surprise visit from Mrs. Flemington!

On November 14th, Indian Lake Middle and High School Students involved in the ILCS Music Department had the amazing opportunity to visit SUNY Potsdam and The Crane School of Music. Students learned about the importance of excelling in High School in order to obtain scholarships, as well as an in-depth look at the SUNY application process. Mr. Gratto arranged for the ILCS students to have the unique experience of viewing the Concert Choir and the Symphonic Band dress rehearsals for their concert later this week.

The ILCS National and Junior National Honor Society students have put together "A Week of Gratitude." Please take a look to see how your child and family can participate in this school wide event. Thank you!

Each month we have a new character trait at ILCS, for the month of November that trait is gratitude. To show gratitude for our local veterans we invited them to join our High School students for lunch. Following lunch the veterans were presented with gifts and thank yous from some elementary classes, a performance by our chorus and select band members, then brief interviews by our high school students. We are so appreciative of the time these local heroes spent with us today, and more importantly the time they and countless others spent serving our nation.

A big ILCS ORANGE welcome to Mr. Hall!

On Thursday, November 2nd, members of the Student Council, as well as the President and Vice President of the middle school Town Government, were invited to attend the Student Leadership Conference, titled "Take Action for Satisfaction," held at the Great Escape Lodge. The students had the opportunity to hear from the keynote speaker, Brandon Lee White, who is not only an author but also a speaker. Brandon has empowered teenagers from all over the world to take control of their identities, aspirations, and barriers they face.
Those who participated in the conference brought back valuable insights to assist their fellow ILCS classmates and peers at school.

Update from the Cafeteria: Paisley requested chili, and we served her chili, as it's her favorite food! At her request, I added it to the menu. She enjoyed it so much that she had two bowls, which is a clear indicator of how much she liked it!

Please share!

Attention: There is a Google Meet scheduled for ALL basketball players, coaches and parents at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 8th. Please use the link below to join the meeting: https://meet.google.com/bfn-dvfp-hzx

The enthusiastic fourth graders have been on an exciting mission, crafting playful eye models, all in pursuit of unraveling the mysteries of why some folks just can't catch a clear glimpse of the world!

From Mr. Gratto:
This Saturday, 14 ILCS students participated as members of the junior/senior chorus, jazz band, and elementary band at the spring CASMA festival. They created challenging music alongside students from neighbouring school. All of them did a wonderful job!

Regional foods found its way to Texas. An overnight smoke on brisket and a demonstration of how to properly cut across the grain before students were able to sample the base of Texas BBQ.

ILCS Students Have Courage! Please share!

The Spirit Week Game has been strong this week at ILCS! Yesterday MS/HS students were encouraged to dress like teachers and teachers were encouraged to dress as students!

Last night, the Quiz Bowl Team came in second in a nail-biting round against Crown Point. Logan, Jackson, and Andrew. You guys did a great job!
