The 9th Grade class recently visited the Indian Lake meal site with their advisor Miss. Walker and had a fun time with the seniors creating watercolor paintings of their names. This was a great time for our students to interact with the community and provide an hour of artistic creativity to fit in with our monthly theme of 'Responsibility'.

Marching reminder: 2025 Dear Parents/Guardians: This year’s parade will be held in Indian Lake! Please make sure your children arrive at the school by 11:45 to get shirts and other needed supplies. We will then warm up and run through our songs with Long Lake just after 12:00 and head down to Bennett Rd. for the 1:00 parade start time. The parade will follow Main St. to the Legion where there will be a ceremony and refreshment following. Children can then return their instruments back to the school. The school will provide black shirts for the kids to wear, but they are responsible for black bottoms and shoes. No sandals please as they can become a tripping hazard. Thank you. Jason Dora

In a hands-on project, students in first period Algebra 1 applied their understanding of linear regression to predict the optimal length of a bungee cord that ensures a safe and thrilling jump. By conducting experiments and analyzing data, they explored the relationship between the number of rubber bands (representing the cord's length) and the distance fallen by a doll, simulating a bungee jumper. Through this process, students gathered data and used linear regression to determine the equation of best fit. This equation allows them to estimate the required number of rubber bands for a specific fall distance. To ensure safety, students consider factors such as the jumper's height, the cord's elasticity, and the desired fall distance, adjusting their predictions accordingly. This project not only reinforces concepts of linear regression but also emphasizes the importance of data analysis and safety considerations in real-world applications. All three groups had successful "jumps"!
