The high school students participated in a celebration of September’s character trait: Respect! The students had a series of challenges based on this important attribute. Pictured is the Blue team who won the noodle tower competition. They built the highest freestanding tower. Color teams were given ten spaghetti noodles, a yard of tape. And a yard of string. They were able to “purchase” an extra noodle with each act of respect they performed in the last week. Each tower has to exceed 2 feet in height. Happily, each team met the challenge!

The ILCS September Character Education trait was Respect! These students were nominated by their teachers for their above and beyond respectful behaviors! Congratulations to all students! October's character trait is Courage!

Open House Reminder:

On Friday, September 22nd local illustrator Cheryl Bielle visited ILCS to read her book "The Boy Who Never Threw Anything Out". Students in grades K-4 enjoyed listening to the story & learning about the illustrations and art! Thank you Cheryl for bringing this book to life in the ILCS library!

The Pre-Calc class recently took measurements using handheld GPS units to gather data in their investigation into the change in elevation per mile. We were able to compare some our measurements to a topographical map. Students did a great job of putting their knowledge of function rules to use!
