Today during library, 1st grade students read the book "Pirates vs Monsters". Students then colored alphabet monsters in shape of the first letter of their names! The 1st grade library student of the day got to pick a super silly prize from the treasure chest and Mrs. Wolfe decided to join the fun!

In October, ILCS students are focusing on the theme of "COURAGE." Our librarian, Mrs. Wolfe, had the pleasure of hosting Deputy Justin Loomis and his K-9 partners, TJ & Fynn, to discuss the concept of courage with our elementary students. During this special session, the students had the opportunity to learn about TJ & Fynn and the extensive education and training they undergo to become K-9 Officers. Deputy Loomis also shared his experiences as an officer and K-9 handler, emphasizing the significant levels of courage and bravery required in his line of work. A highlight of the presentation for both the students and TJ was when the students had the chance to pet TJ. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Deputy Loomis, TJ, and Fynn for their visit to our school and for their dedication to keeping Hamilton County safe!

The high school students participated in a celebration of September’s character trait: Respect! The students had a series of challenges based on this important attribute. Pictured is the Blue team who won the noodle tower competition. They built the highest freestanding tower. Color teams were given ten spaghetti noodles, a yard of tape. And a yard of string. They were able to “purchase” an extra noodle with each act of respect they performed in the last week. Each tower has to exceed 2 feet in height. Happily, each team met the challenge!
