The 8th-grade Makerspace students took on a "Survival Sewing" challenge, diving into both hand-sewing and machine sewing skills to create some impressive projects! They started by upcycling old T-shirts into eco-friendly shopping bags, then designed and crafted their own unique pillows. They even tackled reading commercial patterns to sew cozy flannel pajama bottoms. This unit was a hands-on adventure in creativity, practical skills, and resourcefulness!

The NHS and NJHS are quickly putting together a charity bake sale to raise money for the Avery's Little Army Foundation. The bake sale will take place on next Tuesday, October 22nd during the Girls Varsity and Girls Modified home games. If you are willing to donate homemade baked goods for this charity event, we would be truly grateful for your support. All proceeds will go to Avery’s Little Army Foundation, which seeks to advance pediatric brain and other cancer research through funding, provide support and assistance to families battling pediatric cancer, and promote activities to raise awareness. Thank you in advance for your support. We hope that you will also consider attending the game to cheer on our Lady Orange soccer teams (and perhaps enjoy some delicious treats as well).

In Mr. Hall's construction class, students participated in a hands-on lesson on how to block a 2x4 wall. This practical experience allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of essential construction techniques. By working directly with materials and tools, students not only developed technical skills but also built confidence in applying these skills to real-world construction projects. These lessons provide valuable insights into the fundamentals of construction, preparing them for future learning opportunities and potential careers in the field.

From the desk of Coach Conboy: “The Boys Varsity Soccer Team travelled to Old Forge this weekend and returned as the 2024 David R. Leach Columbus Day Soccer Tournament Champions! They defeated the host school, Town of Webb, 3-1 on Saturday with goals from Jackson Strader, Mason Fredette, and Chris Ciembroniewicz. From there, they were matched up against a highly ranked Class C school in South Lewis on Sunday. But once again, the boys proved worthy of the contest and came out on top 2-1 in Sudden Death, double Overtime, with goals from Mason Fredette and a dramatic free kick winner from Jackson Strader. After racking up an incredible 31 saves over the two games, Tyler Mack was awarded tournament MVP. Congratulations to Tyler on his individual award and to the team for earning their 1st Place trophy!!”
