A new ILCS tradition is born!
Brrr! It was a chilly one on Saturday, October 17, but that didn’t stop Orange Nation from showing up for some friendly competition, plenty of laughs, and a whole lot of school spirit!
Despite the freezing temperatures, 26 alumni, staff, and community members gathered on the ILCS soccer field for the first-ever ILCS Community Soccer Game! The energy was high, the smiles were plentiful, and the laughter could be heard across the field as players came together to celebrate their shared connection to Indian Lake Central School.
After an exciting matchup, Team Jayden Otruba and Marissa Chisman claimed the victory with a final score of 4–2 over Team Mr. Ben Conboy! While one team may have taken home the bragging rights, the real win was seeing so many generations of Orange Nation come together for an afternoon of fun, sportsmanship, and community pride.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our amazing student volunteers! Morgan Scofield, Hailey Scofield, Joe Boya, and Mason Fredette kept the game moving as student referees. Colin Conboy served as our ball boy, Paisley Lamphear took on the role of ball girl, and Aubree Eldridge and Alana Naubereit kept track of the score. We are so proud of our students for stepping up and helping make this event a success!

From the players battling it out on the field to the students helping behind the scenes, everyone played a part in making this first game a memorable one.
A huge thank-you goes out to all of our players, student volunteers, and community members who braved the cold and helped make this event such a success. Your enthusiasm and school spirit remind us what makes ILCS so special!
This is just the beginning of an amazing new tradition at ILCS! We can’t wait to see everyone back on the field next year. Until then, stay warm, Orange Nation, and remember: once an Orange, always an Orange!
