Hunter Tracey is Salutatorian of the Class of 2026.

Hunter is academically motivated and achieves high grades in all his course but his passion is to be outside no matter what the weather. He naturally prefers to be active and hands-on, rather than sitting in a classroom. He is passionate about the sport of hunting and fishing and will go as often as his busy schedule allows. He recognizes and promotes hunting as a sport and respects all the rules and regulations. In addition to hunting , he loves to build and create. He is not the kind of kid that likes to sit and listen to a lecture- he would rather be working with his hands. As a senior he is doing  a very unique and special work study. He leaves school half day after taking his required courses for graduation to work with the local DEC Forest Rangers. He has done a variety of tasks and is learning what goes into being a Forest Ranger/DEC employee. Hunter’s ultimate career goal is to be a forest ranger- This work study experience has been an invaluable opportunity for him.

Hunter is quiet with a  kind personality. He is never unkind to anyone. He is respectful to both his teachers and his peers. He is never harsh, loud or abrasive. He is extremely well mannered, is always polite and respectful. He  gets along well with everyone in school. He is always courteous and respectful to everyone. He is always honest and  sincere. He is never attention seeking or loud. He comes to school each and every day ready to work. Hunter takes his academics seriously and strives for the highest grades possible. As a senior, he is earning college credits classes through North Country Community College as part of their “Bridge Program” as well as earning credits through Syracuse University (SUPA).

Hunter will be attending Paul Smith’s College as an Environmental Science major.
