Orange You Awesome Award
ILCS Student Spotlight:Charlie Weaver Recognized for Outstanding Volunteerism

Indian Lake Central School is proud to recognize Charlie for her remarkable service at the recent Tunnels to Towers event in Albany. Founded in honor of Stephen Siller, a firefighter who gave his life on 9/11, this event raises vital funds to support 9/11 families, veterans, and first responders.
Charlie stepped up as a dedicated volunteer, demonstrating commitment, responsibility, and compassion throughout the day. She warmly welcomed participants, handed out t-shirts and water, and maintained safety communication on her assigned floor to ensure everything ran smoothly. Beyond her assigned duties, Charlie went above and beyond—cheering climbers at the finish line, presenting medals, and assisting with timing trackers.
Her willingness to contribute in so many ways helped create a positive and memorable experience for participants, while also honoring the important mission of the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
“Charlie’s actions showcased her strong character and dedication to serving others,” said Mrs. Hoag, who nominated her for this recognition.
Charlie’s volunteerism is a shining example of the values ILCS encourages in its students—leadership, compassion, and a commitment to community service.
