Indian Lake Music Department Philosophy

Music has always been an intricate component of every culture. It provides individuals with unique ways of understanding society, history, and nature.

Music also provides the means for aesthetic growth, fostering the development of intrinsic values such as expression, creativity, and value.

The aesthetic and functional value of music makes each individual involved a well-rounded person, which in turn, benefits society as a whole.

As music educators, we are committed to passing the tradition of music on to our students through music education

General Program Goals

2. To offer every student a medium in which to perform, including both instrumental and vocal
3. To give each student the opportunity to perform alone and in groups.
