ILCS students hosted Jo Sallins, a musician educator, on Wednesday, February 7th. Mr. Sallins, assisted by Jesse Casinghino, led 3 workshops in the morning and 2 performances in the afternoon. He worked with students in grades K-12 to discuss how music allows people to express themselves. Through his interactive workshops, Mr. Sallins encouraged the students to use a variety of different percussion instruments to create a group "concert" of their own and then brought several of
these students back up during the afternoon performances to show off what they had learned. |
