A Parent's Guide for Grades 3-8 Testing

New York State has mandated testing in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics for all students in grades 3-8. This may be creating some anxiety for parents and students so the State has published a document to help alleviate any undue stress. This document includes the following topics: an overview, frequently asked questions, learning begins at home, how parents can help, sample test questions for all grades, a glossary of testing terms and for more information section. Take your time and look over the materials at the following web site http://www.emsc.nysed.gov/3-8/home.html. There are a number of other related links at this site that you may find helpful as well.
